Questions about quotes and deposits

Can the client accept the quote online?

Yes. Enable online responses when sending the quote. The client can review the link and accept or decline, and their response is recorded against the quote.

Does accepting a quote take a payment?

No. Acceptance records the client's response. You create and send a deposit or full invoice separately, and the client pays using the options on that invoice.

Can I choose the deposit amount?

Choose a percentage of the accepted quote total and Bilbee creates a linked deposit invoice. Review it before sending it to your client.

Do I have to take a deposit?

No. You can convert the accepted quote directly into an invoice for the full amount. Deposits are there when you need to invoice part of the work first.

Does the balance depend on whether the deposit has been paid?

The balance invoice takes linked deposit invoices into account. Payment status is tracked separately, so a deposit that is still unpaid remains outstanding on its own invoice.

What happens when the quote expires?

The valid-until date sets how long the offer is available. A sent quote past that date can't be accepted online. Review the quote and its dates before sending it again.

Are quotes included on Free?

Yes, without a quote limit. Issuing a deposit or balance invoice uses one of Free's five monthly invoices. Draft invoices don't count towards that allowance.
